But in my belief, God made women to have this desire and need to submit to a dominant man but just as women have lost this part of themselves through the Centuries, so have the men lost the ability to understand how to dominate. I man has a responsibility to correctly dominate a women who submits according to the Bible but some men believe that because they have the male parts, they are worthy of it. Just as a women needs to give of herself to submit, a man must give of himself carry the responsibility to dominate over her.

Re: What Would Jesus Get On The Myers-Briggs

This made me smile. I recently took the Myers-Briggs after having taken it about 17 years ago. Back then I was INTJ, but now I'm INFJ, but teetering on S and P. What I think is remarkable is that when I took the Myers-Briggs the first time, I was dating someone who was INTJ and he thought everyone else should be too. I don't know if he influenced my personality that greatly or I tried to think like he did, but either way, I found it interesting that my personality changed. One thing I think is a misconception about introverts on the whole is that people think we like to be alone all the time. Personally, I can only enjoy being alone for a short period of time before it starts to become lonely and boring for me. Then again, I don't score especially high on the I part, though. My husband is ENFP, also.

Re: Kingdom Vs. Church

your problem is that church should not be in our bibles, it was put in there to support a building and clergy in our translation. the Greek word ekklesia means assembly in general and called out assembly in particular. The called out assembly of every city made up the Kingdom of God. Jesus is the King and we who believe make up His domain. It was the called out assembly in Corinth, in ephesus, etc... not church. The people are a called out assembly and when they come together they minister to one another in love in small groups. Homes were used and the money collected was given to those in need and not to buildings. We are robbing God of His money to the poor, the needy and hurting...something with eternal value. The home assemblies made up the city assembly and they made up the Kingdom.... the place of God's rule. there are translations that don't use church, because church has no greek word to back it up. Tyndale who wrote the first English bible did not use church but assembly and congregation and was killed for it. If we have one King, then there should be one kingdom. But what we have done was to ignore the kingdom and create thousands of divided churches each with their own clergy and all competing with one another...that never was God's intention.

Re: The Redemption of Metallica

Kirk Hammett

Re: The Redemption of Metallica

What is the name of the person 3rd from the left (arms folded)

Re: Why Are Christians Judgmental?

Because they fail the greatest command in the Bible which is to love. It is not to receive His favour in some delema that we are facing or to find direction for our lives, or even to change our lives or circumstances: although these things may result. The only reason to seek God? God Himself.

Re: Why Are Christians Judgmental?

I have a couple very good friends who are Christians and they are great people. But sadly I would have to say they are definitely in the minority. I don't know whether I would call myself agnostic or atheist. Religion is not a part of my life at all. Most of my personal experience dealing with Christians has been extremely unpleasant. Most Christians I've met are quite pompous and so quick to judge anyone who is the slightest bit different from their very narrow view of what is "right". They treat non Christians as if they're beneath them. They say "I'll pray for you" as if it's a polite thing to say but really what it means is "You are not okay the way you are, you have to be like me because the way I am is what's correct and you need to be fixed". Then they wonder why people are so turned off by them. I think Jesus really did sound like a swell guy. So if you want to be a good Christian then maybe should keep asking yourself what would jesus do. Would jesus judge others or belittle them for their differences? I don't think so. Yet this is something that most Christians do routinely to anyone unlike them. Arrogance and hypocrisy will win you no converts. And when you disrespect me with your smug, self righteous comments, don't be surprised when I walk away.

Re: There Is No Word For Coincidence In Hebrew

Thank you for showing the true spirit of Yeshua (Jesus). He loves us all, died for us all, but he did reveal his true character when he gathered the unlearned, poor and the children, what the world would consider poor choices. These are the ones HE gave HIS WORD to, not to the bible scholars that "knew" the word. To the so called educated ones, HE critisized them. They did indeed have the formal education, but they lacked the wisdom it takes to show mercy!
God bless all that seek HIM, and know that HE does speak to us all in different ways. HE can do that because HE created us all and relates to us individually. Any experience with GOD reveals HIS love for us, and that can never be bad.

Re: Missional Renaissance – Book Review

David, that's a fair response. But I don't think your criticism of the shift "from internal to external ministry focus" is fair.

You go on to state that he presents "an either or approach." More than once in the book he stresses that he's not suggesting "an either or approach". See for example page 65:

"First, the shift [from internal to external] is not suggested as an either-or scenario." He further says: "an exclusive external focus is not even feasible. This shift is about a flow toward increasingly intentional efforts that help us realize what we are called to do and who we are called to be as the people of God."

Re: Spiritual But Not Religious Music

That is one of my truly favorite songs to play.

Re: Spiritual But Not Religious Music

Life is Beautiful by Sixx AM

Re: Unconditional Love

Raelene. No offense. Do you seriously mean those words? Have you liked or have been inspired by any martyrs? That part about God is funny. You say God has unconditional love for all. Then why did he bash all the merchants and the peddlers out of the Jerusalem Synagogue. Also, I believe he cursed the fig tree out of anger? When I was a kid, my minister told me that I have to follow the path of God to be loved by him? Does that guy lie to me? It is ABUSE – an abuse of power, position and fiduciary responsibility. Clergy sexual abuse (CSA) and clergy sexual misconduct (CSM) occur in staggering numbers across all faiths. According to a recent study conducted by Baylor University, 1 in 30 adult women who regularly attend church are victims. The church is the catalyst for impact through its membership - not through its teaching, and CERTAINLY not through its morality. This is because there is no other domain in which everyone from the major Spheres of influence gather on a week to week basis with (hopefully) the same heart. Should the church mobilize its congregation across all the vocational domains (arts, sciences, education, media, medicine, etc) for Christ-Like cultural transformation, it would become the hope of the world. Not through its words... but through its actions. The polarization of Morality will, and is producing the exact opposite in our culture today.

I agree, Jesus is the hope of the world, but people see Jesus through the lives and actions of His ambassadors.

Re: Coaching Thought: What are you dying for?

Yes Jonathan, I think thats a very good discription....

Re: Coaching Thought: What are you dying for?

David, I think we swim against the stream when we practice love. And dying for someone is like swimming into a tidal wave.
